What we collect, why, and the control you have over it.

At a glance

TripUnio uses the information needed to create, save, and share your travel plans. You can begin planning without a permanent account, non-essential analytics require consent, and TripUnio does not sell personal data.

Information you provide

This can include your name and email, trip prompts, itinerary notes, destinations, dates, reservations, packing items, expenses, preferences, and messages sent through the planner or support channels. Avoid adding passport numbers, payment-card details, or other sensitive information to trip notes.

Anonymous planning and accounts

A temporary session may be created so a signed-out plan can work and persist. If you later create or access an account, eligible trips may be associated with that account so you can continue across devices.

Collaboration and sharing

People you invite can see and edit the trip information available to collaborators. The workspace itself remains member-only. TripUnio automatically creates a separate, privacy-checked public guide from the itinerary; it excludes private chat, member details, confirmations, and expenses. A signed-in owner can later make that guide private.

How information is used

Information is used to generate and edit itineraries, provide maps and travel tools, synchronize plans, support collaboration, respond to requests, prevent abuse, maintain reliability, and improve the service. Trip content is not used to target advertising to you.

Service providers and travel partners

TripUnio relies on providers for hosting, authentication, maps, travel data, email, analytics, and other operational services. They receive only the information needed for their role and process it under their own legal and security obligations. Opening or booking with a travel partner is governed by that partner's privacy policy.

Analytics and cookies

Essential storage supports sessions, security, and saved choices. Measurement tools are consent-gated and are not loaded until you allow non-essential analytics. You can change that choice through the site's privacy controls.

Retention and deletion

Information is kept for as long as needed to operate your account and trips, meet security or legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain necessary records. You can delete trips or request account deletion; limited records may remain where retention is legally required or needed to protect the service.

Security

TripUnio uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information in transit and at rest. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so use a unique password and keep private trip and invite links confidential.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, export, restriction, objection, or deletion of personal information. You can also reset travel preferences and decline non-essential analytics. Email hello@tripunio.com to make a request.
